Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient system of Chinese healing practiced for over 2000 years. Its philosophy for good health is reliant on energy – or Qi – moving in a smooth and continuous flow through channels in the body. Illness, injury or emotional stress can disturb the smooth flow of Qi, leading to a range of symptoms and often the loss of a sense of welbeing.

Acupuncture can improve a variety of conditions including:

  • Stress, anxiety & depression
  • Tiredness & energy loss
  • Women’s health: infertility, periods, menopause & pregnancy
  • Migraines
  • Insomnia
  • Back, neck & muscular pain
  • Digestive problems
  • Poor immunity

An Acupuncture treatment can help to alleviate these problems through the subtle use of extremely fine, sterile needles at specific points along these energy channels to restore balance, leading to an improvement in symptoms and an increased sense of vitality. Moxa or cupping techniques may also be used. Traditional Acupuncture aims to treat the whole person as physical, emotional & mental aspects are often interdependent, rather than working with the specific symptoms in isolation. In this way, long lasting improvements in your health, energy & wellbeing can be achieved.

The initial consultation takes 1.5 hours to build up a detailed case history, with follow up treatments lasting 1 hour.
